Ali Leist with The Kalamazoo Bee Club

  • Basement of Tibb's Tibbs Brewery Kalamazoo, MI USA (map)

The purpose of the KBC is to educate and provide resources to people who want to keep bees, support those who already keep bees, and to provide bee-related services to the community.

Ali Leist began to play with honeybees in 2013 after her colleagues wrote a grant to start an apiary at Western Michigan University’s Colony Farm Orchard. Soon after she became the co-director of WMU’s Apiary Research Installment and facilitated a partnership with the Kalamazoo Bee Club (KBC). Over the past 4 years she has served on the board of the KBC where the art and science of beekeeping has become a favorite hobby. Ali loves learning with others in the field and sharing her passions with anyone willing to listen.

Join us to hear more on the Kalamazoo Bee Club, upcoming activities and ways to get involved!
